Investigators struggle to find cause of deadly auto accident

Deciphering what happened in a car crash might not always be an easy task for investigators. Florida law enforcement officials see plenty of car accidents, but that does not mean that what led to a particular auto accident is evident right away. It could take some time before grieving families and injured victims understand what happened in the few seconds that potentially changed their lives forever.

For instance, investigators are not yet clear as to the cause of a two vehicle crash that occurred around 5 p.m. on a recent Tuesday here in the Miami area. The only thing preliminary reports revealed was that it was more than likely not a head-on collision. Upon arrival, it was discovered that one driver perished in the crash, a child was thrown from the vehicle and the other driver suffered serious injuries.

People in the area of the accident at the time attempted to render assistance to those involved, but there was not much they could do. The child was taken to a children's hospital in the area and was last listed as being in critical condition. The driver who survived the crash remained hospitalized in serious condition as well.

While Florida officials attempt to sort out what happened and determine whether criminal charges are appropriate against the surviving driver, the family of the deceased driver and the child, along with the seriously injured driver, would more than likely benefit from understanding their rights and responsibilities in connection with this deadly auto accident. Between the official investigation and any private inquiries resulting from the hiring of an attorney, fault will be established. All of the parties involved need to be prepared for what could come next.
