Auto accident takes 1 life, leads to 2 injuries

A tragic motor vehicle crash recently took a woman's life in Florida. Meanwhile, two other individuals suffered severe injuries in the auto accident. The car wreck took place along State Road 80.

The fatal accident occurred at a little before 2:30 p.m. on a Tuesday. According to authorities, a woman, 57, was headed east on the highway, but she was apparently in the highway's westbound lanes. Her car ended up removing the side mirror on another car, which almost collided head-on with her car but was able to steer onto a turn lane to avoid a crash.

The two people in the second car suffered no injuries. However, the woman driving the first car then reportedly hit a third automobile -- a pickup truck. The driver and passenger in this motor vehicle, ages 31 and 16, respectively, suffered serious injuries and were transported to the hospital. Authorities continued to investigate the cause of the crash.

The two parties injured in the Florida auto accident are entitled to file personal injury claims, seeking the reimbursement of monetary damages. Although the woman who allegedly caused their injuries ended up dying in the accident, her estate may still be named in a lawsuit. Likewise, anybody else with an ownership interest in the car she was driving at the time of the accident may be sued. Competent proof of negligence is needed to establish liability before the civil court hearing the case. Only then will a judge determine claims for monetary damages, which, if awarded, may help with covering hospital bills and other accident-related losses.
